www.microfinance.audencia.comThe need to stimulate microfinance research in France, to promote microfinance itself, to encourage scientific and educational cooperation as well as the sharing of information between researchers and practitioners, to facilitate the development of coordinated programmes and the innovations that result from them – these are some of the needs that I imagine are almost universally accepted.
To address these needs, the AFMF (French Association of MicroFinance) was created on December 16. Capitalising on the strengths of their Chair in Microfinance, its founders, Federation Nationale des Banques Populaires and Audencia Nantes School of Management, wish to offer an open system which express their commitment and willingness to cooperate.
I am convinced that microfinance, micro-entrepreneurs and our societal fabric, have everything to gain from a strengthening of efforts in research, reflection, proximity and anticipation.
